Must Hear Postrock: The end of the Ocean - We always think there is going to be more time...

Pacific-atlanticIf you want your Postrock tracks with great build-ups, quiet segments, epic riffs and an emotional connection? Look no further, this is the right track for you by The End of the Ocean.

I didn't know this band until Dunk! 2015 festival. I was intrigued by this band with a synthesizer right in the middle of the podium. It was their first performance outside the USA and they where psyched to play.  During their performance (which was really good) I could discover some restrictions with the band. They looked a bit overwhelmed by the sheer amount of fans and the energy of the crowd. While playing this track (We always think there's going to be more time ), the band shrugged of some shyness and really rocked the stage. This was the right track in the right place in the right time: a grand, melodic beast that has everything that makes the genre so goddamn great. The live performance was fantastic (as can be seen in the video below) and the crowd screamed some of the loudest cheers I've ever witnessed at Dunk.

A center stage piano / synth sound, added drums and quiet guitars is the intro of this track, which builds up around the two minute mark with an extra guitar. The track takes its time crescendo #1 around the 4:30 minutes where the tone of the track shifts to a louder track. It quiets down around the 6 minutes mark, only to build up to crescendo #2 and the climax of this track around the 7 minutes track with a true epic post-metal style segment. After the climax, the track takes its time to quiet down and leave the listener in awe. It's a true beauty and deserves a spot in the Must-Hear Postrock segment.
