Yesterday, I had the pleasure to go and see And So I Watch You From Afar at the Effenaar, Eindhoven. They just released their new album Heirs, so I was excited to hear how the new tracks fare live. Three videos inside!
I got to say, opener Run Home is a fantastic track and live, it's amazing with typical ASIWYFA stuff that transcends into classic postrock in a beautiful slow segment, that erupts later on. Great stuff! However you describe ASIWYFA's style, it's kinetic, hyper active stuff. If you compare the stage presence of this band with static Mogwai, it's a lot more fun to watch. Some tracks are so "crowded" with riffs, drums, bass, the speed is insane and sometimes, I lose focus. Nevertheless, the band put in some breathers to fire up later on. Excellent show in a great venue.
ASIWYFA - Wasps
ASIWYFA - 7 Billion People all Alive at Once
ASIWYFA - Eunoia + Big Thinks do Remarkable
